Operating Principle

Electronics of LSV-R excites the piezo-electric-crystals inside the tuning rod, which makes the rod vibrate at it’s natural resonance frequency in free air.

Amplitudes of vibration are above threshold when rod is free to vibrate.

When Material touches the rod, vibration stops as resonance gets disturbed.

Amplitude of vibration as sensed by the electronics falls below the threshold, Materials presence is thus detected by observing the amplitude of vibration.

Operation

Device operation and settings:
Trumen vibrating rod level switch is very easy to operate-

  1. Open the cover of Trumen LSVR and you can see there are 9 terminals. Terminal 1, 2 & 3 are for auxiliary power supply. Terminal 4, 5, 6 & 7, 8, 9 are for relay output.
  2. Connect the power supply either 15 to 80VDC or 15 to 260VAC on terminal 1 & 2 and switch on the power.
  3. Trumen vibrating rod level sensor starts vibrating in air. power LED is in on and status LED is in OFF conditon.
  4. Now we fill the material solids, granuals or powder up-to the rod level.
  5. You can see the status LED of LSVR is on means material reaches to the high level.
  6. Now we empty the material, you can see the status LED is off means material goes below the sensor.
  7. Relay status also change fron NC to NO.
  8. There are 4 DIP switches provided on connection panel. Via DIP switch no. 1 we can set the sensitivity that means if the material is fluffy in nature or having low bulk density (less than 350gm/litre) we need to ON switch no.1. In this condition LSVR will sense the material. Keep it turned off for normal density (more than 350gm/litre) materials.
  9. Switch no. 2 is to set dry delay means off delay. On the DIP switch no.2 and empty the material. LSVR will wait for 5sec once the material goes below the sensor and after 5 sec it generate switching.
  10. Switch no. 3 is to set wet delay means on delay. On the DIP switch no.3 and fill the material. LSVR will wait for 5sec once the material touches the sensor and after 5 sec it generate switching.
  11. Switch no. 4 is to set fail safe means the instruments should be in alarm condition if the sensor facess power failure. When the sensor is installed for high level keep the DIP switch no.4 is turn off, failsafe high or maximum and when the sensor is installed for low level keep the DIP switch no.4 turn on, failsafe low or minimum.
  12. You can easily replace the electronics as shown.
